Bad eyes run in my family and I knew since I was little there was a big chance of getting glasses myself one day. At the age of around 7 the moment was there and my life with glasses started.
Include some braces into it a few years later and the ultimate nerd look was there. During my teenage I was totally fed up with that look and started to wear optical lenses and luckily my braces were history too. So you can quite say I’ve got several years of experience of wearing glasses and know all the struggles it brings with it.
I thought it would be quite fun to share things only people with glasses will understand – some serious, some fun. Do you wear glasses? And can you relate with the things I wrote down? And do you got more things to share – please let me know it the comments!
9 THINGS ONLY PEOPLE WITH GLASSES WILL UNDERSTAND
1. Cleaning my glasses all the time – How is it possible my glasses get dirty all the time! Tips please…
2. Re-adjusting my glasses all the time – I’ve got a tiny nose so when my nose only get a bit oily my glasses drop every time – hello nerd-factor to the max!
3. Rain and glasses are the worst combination – Just dealing with it is the only option! Maybe it’s time somebody needs to invent windshield wipers for glasses.
4. After rain, fog is my worst enemy – Walking into a warm/steamy room and having no sight isn’t a good introduction. Oh and eating soup normally isn’t possible too…
5. Losing you glasses – And trying the find them back in an all blurry world.
6. Lying down and trying to read or watch the tv – Including the fear of breaking or bending your glasses.
7. Shocked faces when they try on your glasses – Yes, I’ve got around -6/-8 in my prescription glasses and for people with good sight looking through my glasses isn’t always a pleasant experience . I have people say it made them dizzy and almost nauseous – sorry, not sorry!
8. Putting up make-up without wearing you glasses – On a day when I wear my glasses putting up make-up is quite a struggle. Pretend your sight is super blurry and you need to smudge some things on you face. Only after putting up your glasses, you can see the result – hello clown face!
9. Not able to wear sunglasses – Yes, I’ve got a big collection of sunglasses without prescription lenses. This means I can’t wear them when I’m wearing my glasses. And putting prescription lenses in all my sunglasses is also not an option – #girlswithglassesfirstworldproblems
